For years, the Optimist Daily has been exploring all the ways that companies and people can live off-grid in this day and age. Meanwhile, a woman by the name of Margaret Gallagher has casually been living off-grid for all of her 77 years.

Her 200-year-old thatched cottage in Northern Ireland has no access to running water or electricity. In fact, it doesn’t even have an indoor toilet. Want to see what it looks like to live off-grid for 77 years? Here is a gallery of photos that document the way Gallagher lives away from the grid.
