If you’ve ever bought your child a toy, you know they’re typically made of plastic and packaged in plastic, which is no fun for the planet. That’s why it’s good news that Hasbro, one of the biggest toy manufacturers in the world, is getting set to eliminate plastics from its packaging. Starting next year, the company will phase out packagings such as elastic bands, blister packs, window sheets and shrink wrap from its products.

The company says redesigning its packaging to eliminate plastic is a complex undertaking but believes it can get the job done by 2022. Hopefully, the move will spur other toy companies to follow suit.
