Since 2000, the world has seen one of the most extensive expansions of education in history. Enrollment in preschools has risen by 45 percent, and in higher education by 161 percent over the same period.
🧒 Child poverty in Sweden drops to lowest level in ten years
The share of children living in families with a low income standard has fallen from 10 percent to 6 percent since 2014. 56 percent of all children live in families with a high income standard, that corresponds to more than 1.2 million children.

A British study of 25,000 adolescents over three years finds no evidence that screen time leads to increased anxiety or depression. Neither active nor passive use of social media shows correlation with worsened mental health.

Three out of four young people exercise at least once a week and many spend time in nature regularly. A large majority of young people have high confidence in researchers and Swedish public authorities. Book reading is stable over time and audiobook listening has increased.
