In the UBS Global Wealth Report 2023, they have compiled how the world's wealth has developed in the 21st century.

It turns out that we have become wealthier.

This applies to all regions of the world.

At the same time, we have become more economically equal.

Here, the development varies somewhat between regions.

The Gini coefficient, which is the most common measure of economic equality, decreased in Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Europe, but increased somewhat in China and India and slightly in Latin America and North America.

An increase in the Gini indicates greater economic inequality, while a decrease implies less economic inequality.

In summary: Globally, everyone has become wealthier, but the poor have become wealthier faster.
