🚀 Finally, we’re going again!

On Sunday, we could be on our way to the Moon once more. For the first time since 1972, a group of people will leave the immediate vicinity of Earth and travel to the Moon.

They won’t land this time (that comes next), but they will fly around the Moon, farther from Earth than any humans have ever been before.

I’ve written a piece about Artemis and how, in its sister mission Apollo 8 in 1968, we went into space to explore the Moon but ended up discovering Earth. And how this time we intend to establish a permanent human presence on the Moon.

There’s also an interview with Sweden’s first astronaut – and a Warp News subscriber – Christer Fuglesang.

🌕 Finally, FINALLY, we’re heading back to the Moon (with the goal of staying)
This is Artemis II and an interview with Sweden’s first astronaut, Christer Fuglesang.

Some personal space news as well

I’ve been elected to the board of the Swedish National Space Agency. It is Sweden’s government space authority. Sweden’s NASA, if you really want to push the comparison.

During my previous political career, I was involved in developing a proposal for a new Swedish space policy, so this is an area I know fairly well. This assignment is different, however, since the strategy and related matters are set by the government and parliament. The board’s role is to help ensure it is implemented.

It’s going to be fun!
