Employment and education uplift
Over the last decade, notable progress has been made in both employment and tertiary education sectors for the one in 10 Americans living with physical, developmental, or intellectual disabilities, writes GZERO.
From 2010 to 2021, full-time employment among disabled Americans aged 21-64 increased from 20.9 percent to 26.9 percent. This marks the highest employment rate recorded since comparable data collection commenced in 2008.
Parallel to the employment upswing, there's been a substantial hike in university graduation rates. The percentage of disabled individuals holding at least a Bachelor’s degree rose from 12.2 percent in 2010 to 17.9 percent in 2021.
