🔋 An electric car became the world's best-selling car in 2023 (for the first time)
It took three years from the launch of Tesla's Model Y for it to conquer the position as the world's best-selling car, across all categories.

For the first time, an electric car reached the top spot on the podium. Tesla's Model Y sold 1.23 million units during 2023, marking a 64 percent increase from the previous year.
The Model Y was launched as recently as 2020 and reached first place in just three years.
Second place was taken by Toyota RAV4 with 1.07 million units and Toyota Corolla with 1.01 million units sold. The previous year, 2022, it was the Corolla that was in first place, with RAV4 in second. Model Y was then ninth.
2023 was a record year for global car sales.
