๐ŸŒ„ Destroying stereotypes about young people

If we tried to guess whether todayโ€™s young people spend more or less time in nature compared to those in the 2000s, most would probably guess less.

We tend to assume that todayโ€™s youth only scroll TikTok and barely move, least of all into nature. But thatโ€™s wrong.

According to the Swedish SOM Instituteโ€™s long-term data series, todayโ€™s young people are much more often out in nature than those who were young in the 2000s.

Exercise levels are steady, they continue to have high trust in researchers and societal institutions, they drink less alcohol, and they read books just as much as before.

Lithuania's suicide rate has dropped from 44 to 19.5 per 100,000 residents since 2004. Free psychological help is now available in all 60 municipalities and reaches over 30,000 people annually. Approximately 10,000 people have been trained to identify and help people with suicidal thoughts.

London recorded 70 murders during the first nine months of 2025, the lowest number since monthly measurements began in 2003. Knife crime decreased by seven percent. Hospital admissions for knife injuries among people under 25 fell by 10 percent over 12 months to June 2025.
